Cape Town residents win court battle over MTN cellphone tower

This is also the reason why we have rubbish reception in the residential area in Cape Town CBD.
 
Next week they will be on MTN's a$$ that they are having congestion issues in the area and complain that MTN is not doing anything about it.
 
3G tower? So MTN appealed the case until the tower was redundant and could probably be replaced with a more modern and presumably smaller tower or set of towers nearby, and the residents wasted tons of their time and R2.5m - which at least isn't that much for a collective of Constantia residents.

Hopefully the judgement was with costs, so some of the R2.5m could be recovered.

Dont with the towers of Babel hahaha. Actually its fine but depends where its placed. The new 5G towers arent really safe. Microwave equivalent. But most towers were tested by the american military on their soldiers. Well that could explain a lot. However the towers emit harmful radiation. Most adults are ok but kids not so much. Especially babies.

Now a while ago the Dutch reformed churches had their turrets reduced in size because well they didnt want Towers of Babels blah blah. Yet not they are erecring 5G towers on their property yet many host creches on their sites and in some cases the tower may he less than 4m away from the nearest classroom. This is really not good. Say some more prayers there.

Now the fun part. The DA is trying to pass a law which enables them to approve for 5G towers anywhere they want. Even if its on your property. Yes they can literally put a 5G tower in your backyard if they feel its needed (or front-yard) and you will have no say nor be able to claim compensation.

If in Durban MTN has been rolling out towers with the Durban Municipality approval with no public participation (similar what the DA is now trying to do.)

And lastly the fun part. If you check the safety tests about the towers, you will discover that those scientists who said its safe are 90% paid for by the cellular and technology providers. Where the independent ones will say 80% its not safe. Makes you think hey?
 
At the end do you really need that cellphone signal? Honestly I do most of my calls etc via my fibre line and dont really use my cellphone signal much. My office is wifi enabled, my malls in my area offers wifi, my home has fibre wifi. I dont use more than 100m of 4G data a month. So the question is. Do we really need more towers or could we do with a better web of wifi hotspots?

Yes, everybody has WiFi enabled homes,cars, offices,toilets,kitchens etc so who needs cell signal hey #sarcasm

Yeah, my neighbour came up with an even better one:
Why don't they transmit cellphone signals from satellites, then we don't need towers everywhere!?

P.S. If you don't know the answer to this question, you (edit: probably) don't belong on this forum...
