Cape Town to spend R216 million on broadband

Cape Town mayor Patricia de Lille has tabled a R34 billion draft budget for the city, with a big chunk allocated for it's broadband network.

Forward thinking municipality. They have run their broadband pilots etc and are now expanding the projects. I wish them well in their plans and hope we have a similar wake-up call in Joburg (BWired aside).
