Sheet, I see the difference in driving style between JHB and PTA. It's my daily commute.

Growing up and learning to drive in Cape Town, moving up to Joburg was a serious learning curve. The N1 and N3 are survival of the fittest. A few years later, I went back down to the Strand for a long weekend, and nearly drove through a few tannies going 10-20km/h under the speed limit - I’d become so accustomed to going over the limit in Joburg because there was almost always some ******** in an M3 right up my arse.
Driving in Joburg, you find a gap and take it as quick as possible and you just keep that acceleration going, before you know you're been driving 40km over the speed limit for the past 10 minutes without noticing.

Its not just the speed at which people drive that is faster in Jhb, its life in general, things get done in jhb, down at the coast people take their time, lekker chillas.

That’s the thing, everyone seems to be able to do it seamlessly up there, zipping in and out of lanes at speed.

What I find the biggest difference to be is that people in CPT are more inclined to drive more slowly, and sometimes overthink things (maybe more careful). People are scared to take the gap here. This obviously p1sses off visitors from JHB.

In JHB it's almost the opposite end of the extreme, not only are JHB drivers not scared to take a gap... they will force themselves in where there is no gap. Which of course p1sses off us CPT drivers.

In general JHB and CPT drivers drive differently, so being from either and visiting the other is frustrating.

Hopefully we can both agree that drivers from KZN are the fkn worst though.
