The two firefighters, who were seriously injured while bringing the blaze above Stellenbosch and Franschhoek under control, were transferred for specialist care.

Much less smoke today. The false-colour satellite image gives a good view of the burn-scar, and the smaller active fire-lines. Theewaterskloof dam surface area is 5,000ha (50km^2), and the burn scar exceeds 10,000ha (100km^2):
