Capetonian coughs up R17,000 for DStv installation

A resident of Newlands in Cape Town was recently overcharged roughly R16,000 on a DStv setup performed by an unaccredited installer.

The disgruntled Capetonian — Brian Davey — told his story to consumer rights journalist Wendy Knowler, who writes for Business Times.

This. When my satellite dish rusted away a few years ago and the HDD in my DSTV PVR decoder gave up the ghost, I just chucked it all in the bin and started streaming from my Xiaomi media player.

Nothing ever gets lost or disappears on the internet, it is all backed up somewhere, and in all likely hood there are more than a few somewhere's.
