You keep saying this is a new contract, surely they'd need to make every client sign it?

Yes and many others on the forum do. I haven't had a single problem with them.

So you have no problem if Capitec cannot run their own systems?? Any of their systems: Servers, Fire Protection, Database Integrity, PABX, Firewalls, Backup Integrity and every other "system"? Because that is what you signed for.

I go to a supermarket and fill up my trolley. Everything is rung up on the till and then my card is declined. So in front of a store full of people I have to leave without my shopping because I cant pay. NICE Capitec! (Capitec response, "It is your responsibility to check when our card expires")

I go to the branch to fix the issue. "Don't worry sir. We'll issue a renewal card." 25minutes later, "Here's your new card sir, just sign these 7 pages of Agreement that you have read and understand and accept our terms and conditions."

"So you want me to read these 7 pages, ask you about anything I don't understand, then sign to certify that I have read and do understand?"

"No you don't have to read the whole thing, just sign. This is a standard banking contract all of our customers sign it. Just sign it and you can get your card." (The following week I'm informed by senior Capitec manager, "I don't know what your problem is you have already signed the Agreement with your fingerprint. Stop being difficult!")

I really want access to my money because I have to buy food, petrol and pay bills. So what the Hell? Every Capitec client signs this agreement, how bad can it be?

On the last page, in big bold letters is one final sentence,
"... I certify that the printout correctly reflects the Agreement displayed to me on a computer screen ..."

I really want access to my money but I don't know how to "certify that a piece of paper correctly reflects a computer screen". Nobody in the branch can tell me how to do it, they phone for backup, still no answers.

Now I have a choice to perjure myself by falsely signing a legal document or go home with no money.

You're funny

They allow you to use your card like a CC, but I have no idea if OP makes use of this.

Do Maestro cards have expiry dates now? I haven't had one for a while but when I did I know it didn't have an expiration date.

Yup, it has the security of a credit card like Securecode or 3D payment I think it's called.

If you do not want the account, close it and move to a different bank.
Thank you for the time wasted reading your utterly useless posted rant.

Good luck with your increased banking fees. I am happy with my R27 fee and R180 interest.

Wtf is this ?? You signed that contract on more than one occasion before otherwise you would not be a Capitec client.

You made a mistake it's your fault end of story.

You're solution is easy sign the standard agreement you have signed in the passed.

It's easy you take a black pen and put your signature down on it no need to walk to the office of the CEO, which reality call was not the CEO of capitec as you do not deserve that appointment at all lol.
