I never got communication from FNB when my cards expired. Does one normally? -Genuine question not a troll post.

I get an SMS and then a phone call to confirm delivery information and details. They deliver it to my office, just show them my ID, sign their delivery form and activate the card online. I went in the first time and the lady told asked me why I'd bothered.

EDIT: I've got my bond with them if that counts for anything.

I have credit cards with Standard Bank and Nedbank and usually get a call about a month before the card expires! Basically to confirm which branch I would like the new card sent to.

The first time I ever got a credit card I may have or may have not read the contract. Don't recall but haven't really bothered since!

Doesn’t this only apply to credit cards?

Dear Valued Capitec Customer

Please be reminded that Capitec will be expiring your card at the end of December. We have updated the T&Cs of our
agreement and you will have to visit a branch, at your convenience, to sign the new agreement. This will usually take 50 minutes because you are advised to read, understand and scrutinize a 5 page document before you sign it. Please plan your visit to the branch with enough time to complete the tasks.

If you would like to enjoy uninterrupted use of your card ensure that you visit the branch before the card expires at month end.

Thanking you again for your valued custom and wishing you a very happy holiday season. Please do not hesitate to contact us if there is anything we can do for you.

This is the email I wish I did receive before the bank expired my card. An equivalent SMS would have been appreciated just as much. Sadly this level of customer service is not offered.

Because reading the expiry date on a card is too difficult?

I didn't read mine. To my defense I wasn't using it though and found out it expired at the bank.

I've done the same thing before. Except I didn't blame the bank for my stupidity.

Mods please this thread.

Ag shame. I realise that English is not your first language but I will not hold that against you. That is why I have let all your errors slide so far.

If you can't understand 'valued custom' Google will enlighten you because it is good English.

I however cannot understand "Mods please this thread." Might just be me but I don't think that makes sense in any English I know.

Not by any bank. I hope you're happy paying more for less service at your new bank. :)

No I'm going to stick with Capitec and make sure they fix their mistakes. I think the bigger banks are beyond repair.
