Got capped around 3am this morning and then everything went dead except the BW page which sortof loaded but with no info as to what I used.

Could not purchase any extra BW as that option was not displayed, anyway I did not see why I should pay since I was supposed to be limited to 64k.

Called Helpdesk this morning and was surprised how helpfull they were, even got to talk to Shaun who said he would sort it out. Seems that 14 others also had the same problem that I had.

It came back up for about 1min then back to nothing. :(

Helpdesk called me back and said I had to purchase more BW as they have a problem with the system, BUT I will NOT be charged for it.
I will report back if they charge me for the extra BW.

I have to admit they went out of their way to be helpfull, and even though I have "run them down" in this NG in the past I have to admit they are now at last trying to help where they can.

From what I can gather that BW manager has got them stumped and does weird things as if it had a mind of it's own.

Had the same problem, starting yesterday morning. Emails wouldn't go, couldn't view certain internet pages.....etc.etc. Phoned helpdesk and was told everything was up and running. Eventually this morning, after phoning them again, I was told that I had used all my bandwidth! BOLLOX!! I still had 500mb on Friday and didn't use the PC on the weekend...so you tell me.

Well they were ok with me, maybe I was lucky but until I get treated differently I will give them credit as they were quite helpfull.

This story will change if they charge me for that extra bandwidth though.

Had the same problem and they also gave me 1Gb free, I was well impressed as well. They were helpful and got it sorted out in a very timely manner. I actually feel off my chair I could not believe it.

Good work WBS & iBurst

Same here on Saturday. After the helpdesk couldn't help me, and after purchasing an extra gig just to get back online again, I emailed Mr Mtshali cc Shaun Green. WITHIN 20min I got mail back stating that it would be sorted out immediately and that an extra gig would be loaded. I got that extra gig + the one I had to purchase. Shaun Green said that I wouldn't be charged for the gig I purchased, but the money got taken off on Monday. Anyways, I was most pleased with their prompt response!

dude i know how you feel i went through that for 4 months, happening at least 2 times a week especially on Friday at 4h30.
It made me a b4ll hair short of culpable homocide, snappy and irritable.
unfortunately my reseller would not help me, nor did the helplessnessdesk or the mails to taiboo madcharlie
i must have bought 3 gigs in 1gb packs just to restore my connection
Shaun g helped me, if it werent for him I would have been incarcerated.

Pity though, i had already got Gatvol with IB and ordered ADSL.
BUT YE i understand but I am over it now...................................................

Anyone want a used Iburst Desktop UTD? PM me you can have it for R2200.00

Well this is disapointing, just when I thought wbs were getting it together at last.

Checked my bank account today and found that wbs had charged me for that "free" 1g.

Phoned again today and it seems that there is no communication between the helpdesk and accounts.
I was told that Shaun had only authorised it this morning so accounts now say it will be credited either with my next payment or the following at the latest. :(

Lets hope they get their communication sorted out between the different departments so that this does not happen again.

I don't see why it can't be sorted out with the September payment, but it seems that since my payment comes off at the beginning of the month it could be too late for them to change now.

I can't believe you fell for that one. You should have at least gotten something in writing and I don't see why they couldn't have added the gig from their side. Good luck getting your money back.

Well if they don't sort it out they will lose the whole account as I will then cancel, that been said it is not in their interrest to mess me or anyone else around for a mere R159.
I'm not prepared to pay for the extra 1g since my normal 3g lasted until 2 days before the end of the month, and there is noway that I would use 1g in the time left this month.

How could I get it in writing since I'm in CT and this all took place yesterday?

Anyway Shaun seems like a reasonable person when I spoke to him, just have to wait and see what happens.

The problem at wbs is still a communication problem between the different departments, lets hope they work at sorting out that problem, for their sake as well as ours.

fergus the strange part is that they DID add the 1g from their side, they just told me they were adding it but it would not be charged.
Reason for adding it was that they could not get the BW manager to give me access without doing that.

This bandwith manager is really really confused. I have 2 UDT's + 2 accounts that have been capped since the 10th of August and browsing and email were up and down till about the 25th then it started flying again and I got download speeds up 30 kbytes/sec. The VPN thats on a non standard port were going at the same speed as uncapped. Ditto for a file transfer between the 2 UDT's.

I am also considering another ISP, I've had it with these people. I can't even browse local site when over my limit.

eibot, I was also happy a few months ago and also supported them, as I'm sure many here will remember.
But when the problems start hitting your own connection then you realise that the people that were complaining awhile back were justified in their complaints.

I kept track of all my BW and I know I never reached my cap yet I was cutoff same as you were.
Same with the "free" paid for 1g they decided to add to my account, that also never came close to 1g, yet I got cut at around 23:00 lastnight.

Ravilj, I called helpdesk when I found they had "stolen" the money from my bank account and they put me through to the accounts dept.
It won't help as they will just tell you they will credit you with it next month.

If you don't get the accounts phone number try going through helpdesk like I did....and give them crap!!!

Just checked my bank account and I see that WBS deducted R540 for this month after deducting the R159 that they charged me for the "free" 1g towards the end of August.

So at least accounts seem to be getting things right now. ;)

The only other real gripe I have is that BW monitor, and I guess that I'll find out later this month if it cuts me of again.
