Congrats!!

This weekend went to check few cars with my daughter, quite a nice bonding time.
Her only requirement was: "Must have 4 doors and roof rack."
We were bad parents so she is only getting car now in second year.
So far on top of the list is 2 year old Renault Sandero.

Good luck with uni, wife being in that filed and working with interns.
It is not easy calling.

Update.

So my daughter has definitely earned her new car beyond it being a birthday gift.

She has made this dad proud...

She got 7 distinctions in matric and has been accepted to study medicine.

Thanks to all the well wishers esp @genetic and bah to the haters
Congrats!

Can we now get a photo?

How about a decent Korean or Japanese small capacity NA car? I hate to see people suffering.

There's still lots of school fees to be paid since she's only in second year.

We are still deciding, they come with 5 year warranty so that helps.
Suzuki Swift is also an option, would like to avoid well know brands due to crime.

Your daughter is clearly brilliant with marks like that, well done.

I would still have gotten her a cheaper and older car though.

@tRoN this is pretty cool man.

I do sincerely hope you get her to do an advanced driving course. Everyone should do one, will make her a lot safer on the road, both in terms of her own abilities and awareness as well as handling herself if she does get into a tricky situation.

Is the car in her name or yours? Careful of donations tax.... Not sure what the age limit for exemption is on that.

Because an 18 year old is likely to spill food and drink in it, smoke on it, scratch it, bump it and do all kinds of stupid **** to it.
As apposed to the other non-18 year old crazy dudes? And who are you to dictate what she does in and with the car?
