This is my last Car Magazine. I am soooo tired of their biased approach to VW that it makes me sick.

Every issue, has to be some car put up against A VW. why not a Renault vs Alfa? or Mazda vs Ford? No, its always everything vs VW.

And then we have to hear how wonderful the VW is...and rubbish. Even when the numbers show otherwise, they will find some stupid way of praising the VW. Or instead of proper feedback about a car we get some chick (no offence) saying "could not find a comfortable seating position" i mean wth??
Anything not to say something bad about the VW.

Take hot-hatch shootout. The Renault and a few others ran circles around the Golf V - yet they still gana gana'd on about the VW this and that.

Then we have the Peugueot cc vs Eos cc. The Peugeot looked better on paper, looked better in photos - and the idiots said the VW won accross the board??

And today, today finished me. They put the Golf 6 against the Mazda MPS - which was faster, yes maybe it didnt handle as well but they praised the Golf over and over again. Why even bother testing?

And the last straw : "The Mazda, at R 310 000, is R7000 more expensive...." IDIOTS!!! read your own pages people! - the Mazda is R310 000 and the VW is R317 000. How can the Mazda be more expensive? You just making up garbage now for fear you wont praise the VW.

They must get kickbacks from VW, sponsorships and/or free cars. Cause nothing could explain such outright biased reports.

And finally, the Golf 6 vs old Focus. I mean really people, how far will you stretch this to get your "freebies" from VW? The Focus was far older, why not compare apples with apples. Oh yes, cause you have an agenda with each test...

Thank goodness we have proper motoring people on Top Gear to give us a real review.

And you call top gears reviews proper reviews? Don't get me wrong Top Gear is very entertaining and i love the show, but I wouldn't say their reviews are great / not biased.

Not saying Car Magazine's reviews are good as well.. What's up with their specs? They make up some of those figures....

yes ok so Clarkson prefers to blow up things rather than do proper tests, but still :)

If Clarkson finds something wrong with a car, he will tell the viewers and critisize , not keep quiet because the Manafacturers are nice to him :rolleyes:

Can't really blame him. I mean, all Porsche is is a suped up beetle... :p
I find the Top Gear magazine quite good.

Oh, and Clarkson DID say that that Aston V8 race-version was rubbish and slow ;)

Ps. I love Porsche and my old man drives a Beetle and a Karmann Ghia(Fully restored)

Last time I checked those magazine were some ludicrous price like R100+ @ CNA..

Cannot justify paying that much for a magazine to read on the toilet...

I generally pick them up at Exclusive for around R60. Don't buy it very regularly as I don't really have time to read magazines as of late.

I presume that you are talking about SA Car magazine, as it gets a bit fuzzy after the OP...

Perhaps they are pro VW, because, unlike certain people not every car is tested by people wearing blinkers!

Since 1978/9 the Golf was the car to set the standard with the Mazda 323, and not much has changed in that respect.

Where CAR bias does get up my nose is that every bloody Porsche that they test (sorry adamr) which happens to be every month...scores a 20/20, which is bollocks as far as I'm concerned...the 'perfect" 20/20 car is still to be built. They seem to have a direct link to god with Porsche tests, and are probably in a situation where they have tested more Porsches that the official Porsche magazine!!

I am also not renewing my subscription, but it is for the simple fact that I am gatvol of reading Porsche tests and ignoring 99% of the cars left on our roads!!

Err but VW are the benchmark in most passenger car markets. They have really raised their game and the other manufacturers have lost the plot. VWs overall quality inside, outside and their engines are far superior to the brands.
VWs also have hereditory styling and they look damn good. Mazda, Ford and Opel are trying so hard it actually shows. The MPS is just crap, its ugly, doesnt handle well, just powerful coz of their big engine.

I wish they would test some more affordable cars. This month another Aston Martin, two Subarus and an expensive VW and an Audi S4 :( And the buyers guide is now totally ****e, the old format was much better.

That's why I read Speed and Sound and international mags like PerformanceVW and Eurotuner if I can get them...

Don't read Car magazine, quickely going off topic, when I was in grade 10 we moved into a larny house in the suburbs and there was an outside room, because I felt big I went to go live there in the outside room...when I opened the cupboard that was locked...MORE THAN 100 CAR magazines fell out...the previous owner, who died, collected this monstrocity!!!

Oh, Fazda, in my opinion - the perfect 20/20 car was Already created...the Audi RS4!!!

When it comes to hot hatches, you have to compare vs the GTi I reckon. It's the quintessential hot hatch.

I have just been reading the latest Car with the comparison between the Mazda and the GTi...I really cannot see why anyone would call that test as being biased towards VW...I certainly know which car I would buy out of the two of them and it wouldn't be the Mazda.

I think that the test was very balanced and not at all biased towards VW in the slightest. the better car got the better points...finish and klaar!
