Hi all,

Want to find out what mods affect and raise a cars value,

In my case got a really giant exhuast attached to my car, welds are coming loose, and I wanted to know if its worth fixing it or saving a bit and replacing exhuast with a smaller one.

Also dropped suspension, (done cheaply)
Previous owner heated and bent the springs, making it ride lower than other picantos,
Not sure how safe/value affect this has;

In addition brand new tires, or ones with that all road hazard garentee, transferable? And adding value?

My car getting close to 100k and want to get an idea whats worth fixing, and what increase its value, and whats worth leaving well alone
Somebody told me people look for pre pimped cars and pay more for those.....

Id think so, brakes good tires now good,
Only thing is exhuast and coil springs that "lowered" but thats how i got the car anyway
And it passed then as well....

No mods ever add value. Unless they're serious quality mods and you're selling to a buyer who understands and wants them.

Mods only detract from the value you very rarely get anything for them and if they were done the backyard way they serve as a deterrent.

The ONLY mods that will improve a price are new tyres.

the rest will do anything from preventing a sale, to lowering its price.

Coils and exhaust MUST be changed if you want a serious sale.

+1

Those bent springs are rubbish. Change them... you might just want to keep the car when you feel how it is supposed to drive.

Thats exactly my thinking,

Glad I asked, the coils not that easily visible, but noticable if parked next to an equivilent....

The exhuast got a giant hole cut into the bumper and makes a racket, so got to invest there,

question is what should i get? Universal exhuast or a oem picanto one?
Bearing in mind, mine is a cut and welds type bush garage type deal,
Guy previouslt cut it just after manifold and welded on this rubbish nonsense,
What should i get?

go oem... get the bumper rebuilt. Easy work for a saturday morning at home with little skill.

Plastic abs offcut to cover the hole from inside. Heat gun to bond. Bodyfiller to even the outside... get someone to paint it for you.

Yeah...

On a Picanto remove ALL evidence of any mods if you want to get anywhere near trade price for the vehicle.

Hate mods, I try by all means to avoid Brakpanned vehicles. The closer to stock the better.
