I have driven two Honda's for extended periods. Firstly, parts are not that expensive, secondly, I hardly ever had to buy parts.

How do you feel about paying a couple of thousands for a Jazz CV joints? "Not that expensive" is not good enough for someone in OP's position, we need not expensive, period.

Interior trim falls off with every bump on the road, it's a truly terrible car I would never wish on anyone, have you seen how they age?

They are indeed expensive, good thing is that the cars don't break that often but it crying time when they finally do.

My issue with Honda is spares costs.

Not a concern we all.

But don’t use a dealer. Car this old/cheap there is no benefit in doing so.

For the few spares I've needed for my Focus, the dealer has been cheaper than Midas. Granted, I've not needed a lot.

Yeah sometimes for strictly parts they can be.

But add the labour and it’s all negated.

Honda very rarely needs random spares outside of normal service items and those aren’t especially pricey.

Have brakes done elsewhere as with any car out of warranty.
