Don't remove it. I know the car is a bit low, but just drive over speed bump at a slower speed? What have you got, a 156?

Cable ties FTW! Amazing how much you can improve a design costing billions in development and production with a few 5c bits of plastic. :)

It is there to stop some of the water splahed up from flooding the electrics when you drive through a puddle, it stops stones from damaging the drive belts/alternator/oil filter and is something of an aerodynamic aid.

Leave it on.

My guess is that it is there for a reason, be it protection or airflow or something else that the engineers deemed important enough to add it to the car.

You, on the other hand - and no offense meant by it, are not an engineer at FIATspa so I do not think you should go messing with it.

LOL I'm actually a Lead engineer by title!!!!:p

Thats ridiculous, first of all H&R is far superior to Eibach , theres no comparison, and two, all blame goes to Alfa for building a car with such a crappy suspension.

LOL fyi...I've had both Eibach and H&R on the car in a space of 6 months! And where do you come off saying Alfa has crappy suspension or did you just want to get in the same bed as all other anti-Alfa comments? A-TYPICAL!:rolleyes:Weet van alles maar ken van niks, ai tog.;)

LOL looks like the sleep together brigade went ALL out on this opportunity to lambaste my marque...MadMailMan is so clueless...your mistakes are embarrassing. Most new cars have undertrays you fools (shakes head) out of 50 VW's I see in the parking lot, at least 40 of them have undertrays, and at least 39 owners don't know they have undertrays and at least 41 of the undertrays are loose...even happens on Ferrari's, me have seen it...

Anyway, JK8 gave it to ya'll once again...I'm getting it checked out and maybe getting a new one or the current one heavily riveted!

I think I should make it clear that I have nothing against Alfa or any other product of FIATspa. They are great cars - I drove a Alfasud 1.5 Veloce once (the one that came with a flat-4 front wheel drive engine) and you cannot help but to just love everything about them. Pretty sweet hot hatches those suds...

Unos are also not bad but they should be built with more care. I know of 2 that nearly caught fire because there was no grommet where the ignition wiring went through the firewall (passenger side). Did not take long for the wires to short-circuit. Actually come to thing of it both were Uno FIRE models.... go figure :p

Its all about being unique and original while having lots of fun.
I hate sheep in VAGs.

AFAIK, it's there to keep the water from the electronics when driving in the rain. (I wish my Polo has that

Doubt anything will go wrong if you remove it, unless your distributor cap is very low like on my Polo.

ummm...maybe your car is too low?

How about you return the poor thing to stock and stop dragging it all over town?

Honestly, you say you love Alfa Romeo motor cars then you buy one and butcher it. That 'aint love pal.

Just more drivel from drivel central, dude you are either an incredible talent as far as trolling goes or you're just a tit.

There is no such thing as trolling.
Some people just fail to admit that I won the argument :p

It is too low...told my wifey to come fetch me from gym yesterday in the Alfa...(clutch is going to be replaced this coming week!!!) spacifically so that I can see how low the thing is from the front when she rocks up...I stood in the road so that I can see it from afar, low and behold, the space between the road and the undertray is minimal...Its not THAT low but because the undertray now hangs, it scrapes everywhere!!!

Oh, I love to modify my cars...sorry vir jou!

Either fix up your suspension to allow for the undertray to work as intended, or take it off & live with fscked aerodynamics, fscked fuel consumption and a permanent layer of road grime on that admittedly beautiful-looking Alfa engine. Simple choice...
