Car wash index – Prices in South Africa, UK, US, and Australia compared

@Priapus then we wonder why there is so much crime. Pay okes that bother to get a job peanuts and they will turn to crime. Logic.

It's nearly half the price in South East Asia and they have an extremely low crime rate
You feel justified paying somebody who needs a feed a family R80? You saying that paying people as little as possible they are not going to turn to crime to make ends meat?

Come on bruv.

They can do more than one a day bruv.
Would you rather he gets R80 one a week or R100 once a month?!

Or rather get R8000 from stealing copper cable in an afternoon.

We get someone to come to our house to wash the vehicles. Took him the better part of yesterday but he had 6 vehicles to wash(not all mine) He Made 1k. The bloke works alone and is 20 years old. Thats decent money for a Saturday's worth of work. When he left he had 4 more to do at another house. So I guess he made about R1500 or R1600 for the day.

I'm not justifying, I'm comparing. I often used to wonder how some service providers over there made ends meet. The carwash people were extremely efficient and could probably wash 20+ cars a day working as a team of three.

Same with the R20 haircut barbers who took about the same amount of time to cut my hair as the carwash people took to wash my car.

And the carwash place included free unlimited coffee and wifi while you waited :coffee:

R20, what can you get with R20 these days.

If you guys feel justified paying somebody so little. By all means go for it, just don't wonder why the country is literally stripped bare and crime is rampant.

I remember having my car's windows smashed and all that was in there was a iphone charging cable that was stolen. Utter desperation. Cost me a whack though to get repaired. If we are paying so little I guess an iphone cable is not a small amount to these people.

R80 for say an hours work, that isn't too shabby?
How much of a cut goes to the carwash. Rent, materials, transport to the job .etc and how much goes to the sod doing the work's dinner table and school fee's?
