Load-shedding in South Africa nears end

South Africans could say goodbye to load-shedding as soon as October this year as Eskom’s performance continues improving.

Eskom’s performance has improved remarkably this year, enabling the utility’s supply to meet demand in the country relatively comfortably over the past few months. South Africa has not experienced load-shedding for over 120 days.

I mean hasn't it been 135 days already??

Ah yes. This is what happens when the ANC loses an election.

No. this is what happens when an incompetent CEO gets booted, its not like he doesnt have a track record of running companies into the ground.
Andre was the start of the recovery. Pay attention!
Modern day Eskom can be measured in the time before Andre and the time after.
Andre was just one thorn in the ANCs side with these elections. People got to hear a bit of truth for a change. The ANC loved Zuma until he was exposed. Heck, even Malema was prepared to die for him not long ago.

No it won't and people should stop saying this. Our SO2 is already low, lower than some countries, without the filters. The other measures aren't being foregone with the temporary measures.

Not where I live in the World Class African City.

Typically off for 3 days per month, too long for batteries, so generator needs to get fired up every now and then.

And electricity costs go up and up.

Was trying to avoid solar, but it may be unavoidable.

Explain?

Yeah, looks good.

Mainly trying to avoid solar for two reasons :

1) Don't know for how long I will still be in that house. Should really get a smaller place.

2) I have 3-phase power, and a few 3-phase devices. That adds complexity and costs.

Pollution curbing measures are still in place, it's not like all the smoke is just going into the atmosphere as is. The stacks were mainly for the SO2 scrubbers but on an international level our coal contains low levels of sulphur and in some cases SO2 levels are lower without the scrubbers than other countries with them. This is just more pure greenie nonsense that more people are now going to die.
