Its rather surprising that a large newspaper group like the Caxton group cannot get separate websites for each of their newspapers but they rather direct viewers to a forum type website thats is most user unfriendly - no layout - has a disorganised look about it.

Am I being an old fart and cannot adapt to change - I have really tried and just give up with the crummy layout

The George, Knysna, Oudtshoorn & Mossel Bay newspapers can be viewed on the poor excuse for a website - a Joomla or Wordpress would be so much better, even Vbulletin or Phpbb3 would be better

Anyway no convincing will get the Moolmans to change their minds

Unfortunately you get people who talk to other (non tech) people about "revolutionary" ideas and "cutting costs" and thus enters this crime against humanity...

And they won't change because its familiar and easy to do and "revolutionary"

A lot of people are still on dialup... just because some tech guy told them it's cheaper...

Strange a printing press cost a couple of million and they cannot spend something on websites, its all about their "priorities"

Perhaps it's the only way they can think of to make sure people keep reading the paper?

The Caxton group own "The Citizen" and a ton of other magazines like Rooi Rose, Countrylife.
This is a general query, I posted the same question the gardenroute.womf.com forum, maybe I will get a reply and please do not view this as criticism.

One of my friends is journalist for one of the Caxton's publications and they do even have their own email address or access to the internet. This would give you some kind of an idea how far behind the company is.
