For once I agree with Solidarity. A 5% increase isn't an increase at all considering that the CPI is going to breach the 6% level by the end of the year or early next year.
While I don't agree that employers should be forced to grant double digit increases something in the 6% to 8% bracket is reasonable IMO.

How many companies will it take in worker going to strike for negotiations before some1 (president ) realizes that the strikes are crippling our country's image and economy?

Management doesn't care mush about the future, well, most of them anyway. They got their fat 80% increase so they don't care. Just look at Eskom for example, they woke up too late.

My friends in Telkom said that the managerial levels (normal management, not top management) got less than 3% increases. Apparently they're not part of the bargains, and their increases has already been given.
