HI Guys

A friend of mine's motherboard packed up and he bough a new PC
HE gave me the processor of the old pc and the RAM

Now it is a celeron 2.4 GHZ and 256 RAM.Problem is it is PC133 ram .So what I am asking is will I still be able to get a board to run this processor. Will the new
board take this processor cause the old board took PC 133 ram.

Thanks

RAM is dirt cheap, forget about buying a board that still supports PC133. Rather look for a board with DDR support and buy a 512MB DDR chip. It'll end up costing the same if you take into account the effort involved in looking for an old motherboard.

i dont think so unless its lga celeron?

does it have pins or are the contacts flat?

if you have pins you'll need to find a second hand board

it the contacts on the cpu are flat means its lga of which there are plenty nice boards

this CPU must be S478,my suggestion is sell the ram,get a Socket 478 mobo and DDR Ram.
If you are in cape town,i will take your pc133 ram。

Hi Guys

Could the CPU be the cause of windows freezing or can it be the board.
My pal did the following:-

He took the harddrive from the PC that was freezing and
it worked 100 % on another PC.He changed the power supply on the initial PC that was freezing windows and it did the same.He changed the ram and it did the same.Re-formatted HDD on another PC and installed on freezing pc it did the same.

So could it be the board or cpu or both.?
