I can confirm that Northgate CNA has stock of the dongle+data R1499, also check your makro they did advertise it in December 2011, also check THE GLEN cna they have the 2gig data bundle+5gig data bundle. Meaning the dongle and the data unfortunately. I did however manage to get 3 DATA SIM CARDS (5gig) at the old price last year. Thank you to the CELL C Rep for hooking me up without him I would probably be in the dark without access to the outside world

Just bought 24GB bundle, was hoping they would just have the 2/5GB SIM's or even the 60GB bundle but doesn't seem like they do.

Am I missing something?

8ta = 120GB @ R2400.00
Remember this deal is on pre-paid you don't have to sign on the dotted line, you might just sign your house away if you sign on the dotted line. Open line of credit :)

Congratulations on coming right - What branch had stock ? Did you buy from Makro or CNA. I was struggling to find stock in December but then CELL C Rep hooked me with the last 2 data cards he has and the 3rd I bought early on.

Everyone wants to get their hands on Data Sim Cards. I was under the impression the promotion was coming to an end in December and when I went to CELL C Retail outlet I was shocked to discover the new prices. Lucky the Rep posted about the data cards they had left.

I must say, I just gave up last year after the CellC data prices doubled and then was happy using the R50\500MB special but when that ended i got REALLY desperate, so when i saw your post about Northgate CNA i went to check it out. It seems like they have quite a bit of stock of the 24GB bundle. CNA also had an issue with RICAing the SIM so i took it to CellC and they were pretty shocked that CNA were still selling the old bundle, I just laughed in their faces with their crazy R3000 price tag!

I must also add that i investigated 8ta's deal with the 2GB+1GB bundle for R150 but for some strange reason i get between 0-20% signal with +100dBm even though i'm surrounded by 3 masts, compare that to the 100% signal and 70dBm i get with CellC!

A BIG Thank You RichardG. I went to CNA Northgate yesterday and they had stock.
You're a lifesaver :)

I chatted to the guys at the Cell C Shop, the new promo for R2999 are the same data package of 2GB, however the modem is faster and upgraded.

Modem might be upgraded in the *new* bundle but if you buy the 24 GB SIM alone it is R2000 which is double the old price.

I am glad you came right - also noticed a lot of stock at East Rand Mall - Edgars they had a display unit.

Would recommend buy it on Edgars Card - 6 months interest fee.

I am sure those wanting to get their hands on the R1499 package they will come right 2gig x 12 month for R1499 is a pretty good price even though the dongle is useless for those that already bought the dongle.

Trust me a faster dongle means nothing if your 2gb data will go in approx 3hours or so at maxx download speed. I have about 3 X BLACK DONGLE and 1 X white dongle :)

Now I don't even use my modems at all using my phone as hotspot :)

My mother is in the same position, her Cell C 1GB expired end December, took her a week to notice...

Are there no decent deals with 300mb or 500mb prepaid for a year? I literally think all she does is use email & check FB

Otherwise I'll just get her to load a couple bundles & wait for a decent deal

Get her the 3GB data bundle for R399, valid for a year. When she runs out, buy another.

Works out to +-250MB per month. She can keep using the same sim card and modem.

The voucher is only available from Cell C stores though.

Please don't say they had the 5GB SIM\bundle?!
No as far as I am aware CELL C stores are the ones selling the data sim cards. I have been to various edgars, cna, makro and have only noticed the "Bundle - Sim Data + Modem) if you are looking for the 5Gig Data Bundle with Modem. The Glen CNA has stock.

If anyone is interested in the 5gig DATA Sim Card have 2 in my position I want to sell and they've not been RICA(sealed in original packaging) reason for selling I want to go with 8ta promotion.

What do you mean, limit the line?
It's an allowance you locate to your post-paid account per month like for example R300 is my spending limit but that is excluding vat. Once you reach the allocated amount your line becomes soft locked you'll only be able to receive calls and not make calls to voice mail, send out sms, data etc.

It's basically away to control your kids spending habit if you decide to get them a contract but not sure if Cell C have such thing in place I know Vodacom do have(I think) they would send an sms daily how much I consumed per day(R300 etc. Like the threshold would be 80% reached now.

Hi RichardG

we don't have exactly options like that.
What we do have are control chat packages,
you get allocated X amount for airtime etc.....
once reached will able to receive calls and not make calls to voice mail, send out sms, data etc.
But have the option to recharge (becomes like a pre-paid till end of month)

Regards

Looking at Cell C in the new year i got to ask. Do you really have that big customer base? Who decided this new pricing and marketing strategy? The idea is to attract customers not to propel them or did I miss that class in business economics?

Oh forgot you have that Cell C works in most stolen phones advantage though
