We are busy fixing niggles and problems before the Launch and yes the weather also played a part.

Check you area http://www.cellc.co.za/coveragemap but it's still dark as Eskom in gauteng so you will probably get normal wireless speeds. Expect HSDPA+ speed tomorrow hopefully!

So if the official launch is today for JHB/PTA, when will the coverage map be updated?

I phoned around this morning and it seems they will only start selling the modems on friday is this right?

Well they have updated their "Find the right store" page to include Gauteng now.

Not sure when that was done, as I checked yesterday morning and it wasn't updated to that. So I'm guessing the coverage map will follow soon as well.

Have just arrived at the Launch and all I can say is WOW! Venue looks amazing and I am looking forward to the launch itself....not often one sees champagne fountains these days

I know the Gauteng launch is taking place as we speak, but does anyone know where/when we can actually go to a cell c store and get the sim/modem?
I called cell c norwood and eastgate yesterday. 1 of them didn't even know about the R1499 deal and the other told me I had to wait till Friday.
Is there ANY possibility of actually buying something today? And if so, where??

Going to be calling the shop in Fourways later.
Edit - Just read this on the live blog: "As of Friday, we will sell data bundles in the stores." That isn't the same as the speedstick bundle is it?
