I see the CellC fast HSPA data services has now been launched in Polokwane in the Limpopo province. This makes it 5 provinces with 4 to go. We are waiting for North West towns (Potchefstroom, Klerksdorp, Mafikeng, Lichtenburg, Rustenburg, Brits, Hartbeespoortdam), Mpumalanga (Nelspruit, Witbank, Secunda), Northern Cape (Kimberley, Upington) and then only Gauteng (the whole city state from Pretoria to the Vaal, Springs to Magaliesburg)

They launched in Nelspruit today that means one less to go.

I can't wait for them to launch in Rustenburg. I will most likely ditch Vodacom when they do.

Hi all

If I buy a Cell C modem and data bundle in Durban, will I be able to use it in Johannesburg? I did a network search and it seems Cell C is appearing as a provider.

Has anyone else done this?

Yes, it works fine in Hyde Park, Sandton and near Wanderers. Can't speak for anywhere else.

Yes, it will work as they provison the simcard to work on the 3G network...


So as long as their is a base station in your area that covers you for 3G you wont have any problem at all.

Silly question but, whens the best time to activate the bundle, beggining of next month or end of this month?

Automatically the 5gig allocated - if you activate now it wont count towards your 12month but if you however do activate on the 1st it will count, 2nd wont

Speed is great, I did post some speedtests, don't know where they are now - but it's faster than 4Mbps ADSL - especially the uplink.

Same thing, first month only starts on the 1st of the next month.

Good news boys and girls --- CELLC shops should be receving stock by next week and I confirmed with one shop they will sell the Data/bundle even if Joburg hasn't launched on that day
