Cell C Airtime disappearing

I have a problem with a pay as you go CellC simcard that my wife has been using for the past 5 years.
As of lately, you load R70 airtime and literally within a day it's gone. She has never subscribed to any ringtone/whatever services.

What would be the best course of action to get to the bottom of this? A call to their customer care number was greeted by an unhelpful operator that told her "so you must be using the airtime!". Of course nothing came of it.

The airtime disappears even when not using the phone at all other than using whatsapp and browsing Facebook, i doubt that either can use up R70 in a day.

PM the Cell C rep with your number and im sure he'll be able to provide you with detailed transactions that occured to deplete the airtime.

She's probably "subscribed" to the Opera Telecom WASP. I suggest you pm the Cell C rep in the Cell C section and ask if he can get a detailed statement on the number. Best is to not use any data for a while as it can cause many entries on the statement.

Have you tried loading airtime and then not using the phone at all and disabling EDGE/3G/Data services? That was the only way I could get the call center to admit something was off! By having no CellC billing on the phone; it would become very clear that some unscrupulous WASP was stealing it right from under your nose.

My younger brother had a WASP subscription field day on my sim over Christmas... just when I thought I'd cancelled them all another short code started billing out of the blue! Good luck, you'll need it!
