Cell C launching VoLTE

Cell C has announced its plans to launch Voice over LTE (VoLTE) services in South Africa through its collaboration with Germany-based ng-voice.

It recently completed its first VoLTE call on Amazon Web Services. Cell C said the development will also enable the delivery of Voice over New Radio (VoNR) and Voice over Wi-Fi (VoWiFi) services.

I wouldn't be boasting about something they should have implemented 10 years ago.
I mean AirMobile doesn't have these features (VoWifi & VoLTE)

Which is the primary reason I haven't ported my primary number over.

Was in Vietnam, and had a local Viettel simcard, and I was able to activate VoWifi and my Telkom sim connected via the mobile data connection (Viettel) back to SA, so was as if I never left.

Only now? VoWifi I could understand but VoLTE and USSD should have been part of the required 4G standard from the start. Hopefully 6G will fix what has been the most flawed period in phone technologies to date.

What next, black friday deals on Blackberries?
