I was at the myboradband conference on the 10th October where Jose Dos Santos presented the Cell C strategy for low call costs for all. A question was posed by the Audience on whether existing customers would qualify for the 99 cents per minute per second billing and Cell C replied that existing clients would qualify. I went to a CellC C store to get my current contract updated. Cell C informed me that I must pay up my current contract and take a new contract to qualify for the new rates - Contradictory to what was said at the conference by CellC:mad:

Sounds like incompetence by the store you went to. AFAIK you can convert an existing contract, but not 100% sure, Cell C rep, what say you?

As per their website:

Supa-Woza benefits do not apply to customers on the 99 Cents For Real tariff plan.
Customers with Supa-Woza benefits who change their tariff plan to the 99 Cents For Real tariff plan will lose all their current Supa-Woza benefits.
The friends and family service is not applicable to the 99 Cents For Real tariff plan.
Standard Cell C rates apply to international calling and value-added services, visit www.cellc.co.za
The 99 Cents For Real starterpack and tariff commences and is available to customers at 00h00 on 20 May 2012 or such other date that Cell C in its sole and absolute discretion elects.

It must be some migration plan to existing customers. It is easy when contract expired and is on month-to-month basis (we migrated such contract already). Otherwise device subsidy has to be taken into account.
