Cell C blocking Speedtest.net, or the other way around? [solved]

not sure why cellc c would block it, all looks ok on my side besides the horrible local ping

Cell C rep just got back to me, said they werent aware of the problem, so will talk to the technicians and then post back to the thread.

Have been trying since 11 am (it is now 13:00) to connect to the web using an iPad with Cell C sim. No go. Speedtest app gives an error:
Network communications issues.

I have lost all faith in Cell C. So far this month, trying very hard, was only able to use 500 meg on the ipad. Everything a big sukkel and just easier to connect via adsl.

Must be a fault with a squid/transparent proxy I suppose..... Highly doubt they will block it intentionally...

Same here, Safari / Chrome doesn't work, page stays white.
But on my cell it works ( also Apple ) On 3G phone and 3G wireless via Huawei modem.

I just tried to access www.speedtest.net now, and it is working for me.

I notice the ping now is really low from the normal 130 - 150ms I would normally get, but the speed reported is really low from the usual 4 / 5Mbps I would get.

I tested also on MyBB speed test and it gave me the usual speed I would get:

Yup, just checked also. It's back up.

Ping : 275ms
Download: 1.5mbps
Upload : 0.35mbps
This ^^^^^^ kindof explains why i can't use any kind of voip on this connection

Am glad its back up, felt a bit lost for a while there

The android app and the speedtest.net website are both working now

I am pretty sure CellC is blocking access to speedtest.net. They do offer their own version: http://41.157.65.50/
