Cell C, can I return my product under the consumer protection act?

I feel like I have been sucker punched by Cell C! I bought a 60GB with a dongle, and after trying it out for 24 hours in January, I went back and got another. Yes I do use a whole lot of bandwidth ;) Or more accurately, I should be using a whole lot of bandwidth.

Back in January I was getting a satisfactory 6 to 10 MBPS on www.speedtest.net but now I can only get under 1MBPS averaging about 70 to 80 KBPS. Completely useless and impossible to use for talking on Skype with my family overseas which is why I bought it in the first place. The speed has drastically fallen away, presumably because they have sold these dongles by the dozen, and are unable to deliver on the volume they have sold. This is nothing short of an enormous RIP OFF!

So Mr Cell C rep............. I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!!!!

Nope, CPA is only valid for deals since 1 April even then I specifically added the wording "on trial" for the seven day return period. At first the idiot at Makro told me that once the package was opened he cannot take it back, I reminded him that comment was against the law. I was not happy in the end but have to be contend with it as there are no alternative available.

Your speed is not so slow because there are to many people on the network. Everybody else still have decent speeds. Get the ID of the tower you are connecting to and contact the Cell C rep via PM. There is obviously an issue and someone should report it before it can get fixed.

Can someone find the thread where problem areas can be posted? I can't seem to find it.

Lara being on here and answering the occasional queen is the reason I have pushed so many to cell c.

Cannot wait for december when I can port over to rbm myself. Those prices cannot be beaten.

I tried a whole bunch of things... Nothing worked.. Even got a antenna. Finally gave up and after 2 weeks took it vack to cna who gave me a refund.

Must say that i didexpierience that cell c speeds dropped dramasticly and that last few days PSN was "blocked" as i had internet access but could not get on to PSN .

Was very disapointed in cell c's call cent, their twitter and stores.. All very un healpfull. Got help from the guy here at my bb thou

I have to say that contrary to JacquesZA's experience, my experience with Cell C after my initial complaint has been very positive.

Thanks to Lars and his dedicated staff and hats off to you guys! The people at Cell C have been fabulous, and every person in the chain has gone the extra mile to make sure we have a viable connection. Ricardo warrants special mention, he has followed up on several occasions and taken a real interest in helping us. It seems that there was a technical glitch with newly installed upgrades, and the tweaks that were done have greatly improved the speed I am getting. I am sure that all of your customers in my area are happy with the improvement!

Thanks Cell C, you have turned an unhappy customer into one ready to sing your praises!
