Cell C cheap data is worthless n useless

so I have a Cell C sim and purchased 50mb, I tried to download a 5mb apk using opera, it failed go download 6 times then when I was able to download it took 15 minutes, huh!!!! vodacom was right by saying Cell C is no threat to them with this low data prices.... u can have the data but if u can't use it its pointless. I couldn't get a page to open in my Ubuntu and I wanted to loggin to myBB..... cell c sux

You are using Opera to download a file and wonder why it is slow? Have you tried this using another browser? Which phone are you using?

So many variables yet it is easiest to blame the networks...

I tried the native browser of my SG2 and also I tried with android download manager, loading a page takes 4eva in all browsers, opera mini, dolphin chrome

I too never had a problem downloading with opera when I am on other networks but cell c is very slow even browsing, the 3g icon means no network in Cell C

Fixed it for ya, not everyone shares your bad experiences. Was downloading a moment ago no problems, speed fast.

CellC is very variable. About 70% of the time I get >4mb/sec. Then it just stops, or cuts off for a few mins. I think it is congestion.

Compared to my time spent trying to use MTN data networks, Cell C has been awesome!

I bought a Cell C sim on saturday and loaded a 50meg data bundle to test the service. I had no problerms, speed is excellent and very good signal here. I will be porting my number to Cell C on 01/09/2012
