Cell C climbs the "best ISP for Netflix" ranks

Netflix has revealed its ISP Speed Index for January 2019, with South Africa holding onto its rank of 53 out of 59 countries.

South Africa’s ISPs achieved an average speed of 2.51Mbps during the month, a decrease over December’s average.

According to the table, cell c is exactly on the same place.... No climb....
Yeah, that's explained above the table...

"The company has climbed the ranks from its previous fifth-place ranking in November 2018 and maintained its top-three spot."

Look at the line graph below the table.

A more fitting title would be MTN overtaking Vodacom... wtf MyBroadband?
The fibre ISP divisions of Vodacom, MTN, and Cell C switched places on the index all the time. Cell C jumping from fifth to third, then holding onto that third place is a far bigger deal.

I'm surprised by all these averages they just seem so low
The full explanation was cut from the article for readability, but it's roughly like this:

The minimum download speed required to use Netflix is 0.5Mbps, and 1.5Mbps is the recommended minimum speed. Netflix also recommends 3Mbps for streaming in SD quality, 5Mbps for HD, and 25Mbps for Ultra HD.

So the averages are probably below 5Mbps because you don't need more than that to stream in HD from Netflix.
