Cell C could lose new spectrum after failing to pay — Report

Cell C must still pay R288.2 million for the spectrum it acquired in an auction held a year and a half ago, Business Times reports.

Several unnamed sources told the publication that Cell C had failed to pay for its new spectrum allocation, prompting Business Times to contact the Department of Communications and Digital Technologies.

Anyone have an idea where all this money is going to that ICASA scored out of thin air?

Why do they need the spectrum anyway if they don't operate their own network. ICASA must take their spectrum back and make it available for auction again in the next round next year. Put it to good use.

I’m porting to Melon mobile.

Should have left them a long time ago. They are as good as dead unless some business with deep pockets buys them and puts them out of their misery.

But then, who would waste their money on a dead horse?
