Cell C discloses data breach, says limited number of people's data exposed

What am I going to do with them?
Send me a LinkedIn request.

All jokes aside, all these big companies disclose these breaches, but what about all the other instances of data leaks that we don't hear about?

Cell C said that its top priority was to protect the integrity of its systems and the confidentiality of customer data.

Lol!

Cell C has disclosed that it was the victim of a cyberattack that exposed the data of a limited number of people.

LIMITED, you say? 🤣
Nice one Cell C

Who cares, they only have 30 customers in any case, nothing significant.
That's good, then their network isn't overloaded anymore.
A Cell C customer for 17 years or so. They had the nearest tower, best signal, and when they closed that one down, Cell C technician installed an aerial on my roof, with signal booster. Can't complain about that.
And their large prepaid data bundles are still very good value for money. Adequate for me, as I am not big on streaming and too old for online gaming.

Notorious hacking group RansomHouse has disclosed private

data

it obtained after it compromised mobile operator Cell C.

Confirming the incident today, the mobile operator says in a statement: “Cell C is aware that data compromised in the recent cyber security incident has been unlawfully disclosed by RansomHouse, the threat actor claiming responsibility.

“This follows a previously reported incident involving unauthorised access to unstructured data in some parts of our IT environment.”

Has any company locally been fined or has there been any lawsuits for data leaks?
