Hello, I'm not sure if its been answered, but I have been searching and found nothing.

Basically I would like to know if the existing data you have left transfers to the next month, I payed R1499 for 24GB and last month I had about 1.4GB left.
So is it not suppose to transfer to the next month? or did I lose that data.

Sorry if this has been asked, please refer me to the thread if it has.

Thanks!

Hi all

Unfortunately if data is not used by the end of the month,
It does not carry over.
New month data is always loaded last day of the month at 00:00

they way you should have made it is that it builds up each month and the at the end of the 12 month when the subscription ends you lose it all...

Cant you speak to the board members about this?
Thanks

Does this mean, I activate it today then I lose the 2GB at 01/08/2011?

wake up CellC, this is heading your way and I see no reason why you should be applying for exemption, that's just greed. I've given you the money for the data, why can't I use it at my leisure http://www.itweb.co.za/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=45249:wasted-bundles-cost-subscribers&tmpl=component&print=1

At the beginning of this year CellC were hero's and champions of the people in my eyes, but your ineptitude in resolving issues and lack of feedback just shows that in reality you are actually no better than the red or yellow teams (at the beginning of this year I was seriously considering porting to you guys when my MTN contract expired this month, however given my CellC experience over the last 6 months I decided to stay with the devil I know).

Guys, the rollover issue is indeed a big one, and im sure Cell C are trying to offer an even better solution than Vodacom. If you do activate today, on lets say the 2GB R1,499 deal, you will have 2GB's to use before 00:00 on the 01/08/2011 - where a new 2GB bundle will be loaded and any remaining data from the previous bundle will be lost. BUT, remember that on this 12-month bundle special, you actually get 13 data bundles! i.e. If you load up today (with the 2GB special) then ull receive 2GB of data today - 22/07/2011. You will then receive subsequent bundles on the first of every month, right up to and INCLUDING a bundle on the 1st of July 2012 - hence you receive 13 bundles for the prices of 12. This clearly doesn't address the rollover issue, but its still another extra stride Cell C takes in giving the customer as much bang for his buck as possible...

Here's the 13 bundle scenario broken down:

I signed up on the 5th of April 2011, on the 2GB package (R1499) and my bundle allocations will be as follows:

1st allocation: 5 April
2nd allocation: 1 May
3rd allocation: 1 June
4th allocation: 1 July
5th allocation: 1 August
6th allocation: 1 September
7th allocation: 1 October
8th allocation: 1 November
9th allocation: 1 December
10th allocation: 1 January
11th allocation: 1 February
12th allocation: 1 March
13th allocation: 1 April

It basically gives you that month free (if it is after the middle of the month)

O nice :)

Thank you Cell C :p

O btw, is there a way I can force the dongle to not use the best available network but stick to HSDPA+ and so on. In the settings it doesn't allow me to force a network I want it on :( I get HSDPA+ but then sometimes it jumps around all the way back down to edge. I would like to keep it on HSDPA+ even if it drops my connection if HSDPA+ signal is getting too weak.

Try the new Connection Manager : http://www.cellc.co.za/internet/page/support/desktop-software/2

You will lose your smses and connection info though. http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/352048-New-Cell-C-Connection-Manager

Can I change the Network type?

Yes, to select the Network type, simply follow the following steps:

Select Networks › Networks Modemenu

Click one of the following:

Fastest Connection Only
Fastest Connection preferred
2G only (GPRS/EDGE)
