Cell C is losing customers - but it's all part of its plan

Cell C has been losing customers but its revenue has increased slightly, according to Blue Label's financial results for the six months ended November 2019.

Speaking at the company's interim results for the six months ended November 2019, co-CEO Mark Levy said that Cell C has been reviewing the profitability of its product lineup.

They were handing free sims in December - with a monthly 1GB data allocation. Gotta say since using them in my burner phone it definitely feels like they have the best signal reception in Durban with regards to LTE.

I'm getting fat - but it's all part of my plan.

Fine and well but why did they can their night time bundles? Apart from Rain they're now the only operator who doesn't have a night time plan which is insane since it's extra income at no cost and alleviates congestion on the all hours consumption so you can sell bigger bundles.

Mahomed is clearly a novice in this space, and think we are too ... he lacks an understanding of the fundamentals of a telco business. Without growth in customers it becomes impossible to grow in any direction, let alone profitably. This is the start of the end unless a credible growth plan is delivered.
Alas it seems that Cell C has no real clue or plan for that matter on how to get the growth back in its business.
Let the games continue....

Via the web interface I see many night time bundles, these are the 30 day options:

I don't use any of these but keep on buying the 50GB bundle for R500.

A 50 Gb bundle for R 500 ? Where can I find that from Cell C ?
I thought their old Giga 200, 200 Gb for R1999, valid for one year, now only available from their website is their best prepaid offer.

Funny I can't remember the last time I saw a night time bundle from them, and those are still way more expensive than the R10/GB anytime I'm paying. Since canning their 50+150GB for think it was R999 there's no more affordable options.

Me too. Can't see the logic of it being cheaper than the 90 and 365 day bundles. Thought it was only for Black Friday a year ago but they seem to have brought it back.

I was 13 when I learned that a loyal paying customer is worth more, and much cheaper, that chasing after new customers. It was only later in life, while arguing with an MBA (arrogant assholes usually) that I realized the lesson I learned by just observing my Jelly-Tot loving sugar addicted clientele, is apparently a well sough-after piece of wisdom where people would pay hundreds of thousands of rands to learn it.

cell c had none of those mba's?
