My wife has a cell c sim which has been telling her that her number is not registered on the network. SMS's and data doesn't work and she can't receive or make calls from the phone. I can stand right next to her and try and phone without any success.
What the hell do we need to do to sort this out...? Only thing that seems to work is bloody whatsapp (which indicates some life from the data front) but she cannot access the internet.

Cell-C's customer care helpline: 140 from a Cell-C phone, or 084-140 from any other phone.

Well it doesn't work that way since it's not a walkie talkie. Call quality (or success/failure) is not determined by the distance between the phones.

OMG really..? Always thought cell phones work like walkie talkies. I will have to reevaluate my life decisions after this revelation. Thanks :)

So why would it matter whether you're right next to her or not?

And still no PM from cell C?

It's sad to see that CellC is still living up to their reputation.

Someone in my family had a monthly spend of almost 15K with CellC at a time and made the switch to Vodacom a few months ago, due to the scrap service from CellC, so I really think that people are headed in the same direction.

I have a prepaid CellC sim, used purely for data, but I got a work 3G contract on Vodacom, so the CellC sim will expire and get recycled soon. My own phone is Vodacom prepaid as well.

AKC is turning things around yes, but if you can't kick out or scratch out the rot that works for you, you will get nowhere fast.
