Cell C Stealing my money

Cell C is actually stealing my money right now, my contract for the 5G for R299 end with them on the 2 Dec 2011 as it is a 12 month contract , they for some reason have it on there systems for a 24 month contract , ive emailed them my cancelation letter and contract so they have proof and every time they tell me it is sorted and if they have a problem they will call me back, which no one ever does , so a week ago they send me my bill saying i must pay R299 for this months bill, i call and complain resend everything and tell them please cancel my contract ,they say they will and if there is a problem they will call me back and no one ever does and thats whats been going on for 2 months now, and last night they debit me ,WTF i have called again to cancel and get my money back and they have told me they will sort it out and someone will call back.......... we will see if no one does im going to take this further

Yo Wazza, sorry to hear about your problems, I see there are a lot of complaints regarding these issues, stick around and hopefully a Cell C rep will come to the rescue....

I had a similar problem, and like my dealings with Telkom, chose to go sort it out in store.

I then discovered that despite working for the company, they have to deal with their call center exactly like I do. I ended up waiting for 30 minutes while this guy tried to sort it out. I then complained that as an employee they really should have their own internal system and a way to access the files they need to sort this kind of crap out.

Don't think it mattered much, but it made me feel better, and it did get resolved in the end.

I'm also experiencing this problem. Thing is the services stop after the 12 month period but Cell C still bill you. I'm being told by the Cell C accounts person that I must give a month's notice.

That Is correct promo ends after 12 month then goes on to a month to month base.

Have you received my e-mail regarding this? I haven't had a response and am worried that my account is going to be debited again this month.

Remember have to give month notice.
Was cancelled 10/02/2012 should end 10/03/2012.

Hi Cell_C,

Thanks for the response. I am not happy with this whole month's notice requirement. The service was terminated by Cell C after a year (in November last year) and they really can't be expecting customers to pay for nothing.

All of their advertisements around this deal also mention expiry after a year and the correct thing to do would have been to contact users and mention that their account is up in a month and request them to cancel. After all this was a once off data promotion.

I would not have cancelled my CellC contract - after 12 months I expected it to be cancelled and not month to month. As far as I knew, at that point CellC prices for 2GB had doubled to R299. So I cancelled as I thought I would be paying R299 and not the R149? If, after my contract (24GB) ended I stayed on month to month, what would I actually have been paying? I went to the stores and was given no details, and that is why I ended my contract, despite loyalty to CellC.

Sadly for CellC I was pushed onto x where for R50 more I got 5 times the data, and have found better speeds.

I seem to have this exact same problem, down to the letter.
Send supporting documentation requesting cancellation, gets billed, phone Cell C customer care, no care received aaaaaand billed again. Wash rinse and repeat.
I must say, in order to get rid of customers it's super effective.
If a Cell C rep is reading this, please PM me, maybe you can help me sort this out.
