Earlier today, I found I was unable to access my camera or security system (on 8ta) from my Cell C mobile.
I tried from my laptop with modem and Cell C SIM and was still unable to access these systems or my MikroTik router Winbox or Webfig admin.
I noticed that since the early hours of this morning, my 8ta connection is being assigned addresses in the 197.229.x.x IP range, where it had previously been getting 41.150.x.x or 41.151.x.x addresses.
I initially thought the problem was this new 8ta range not allowing inbound connections.
However, I was able to access all systems normally from my laptop with a Vodacom or 8ta SIM in the modem and also from the laptop at a nearby WiFi hotspot.
Also confirmed no access problems from friends laptop with Vodacom connection.
So this problem seems to be a Cell C network issue of sorts.
The Trace Routes below show no problem from Vodacom or 8ta to my 8ta address. (197.229.47.139)
However, from different Cell C source addresses there is a problem.
I did report a problem to Cell C probably a year ago here where I could not always access my camera and security systems from my Cell C mobile when they were also on a Cell C connection (unrestricted APN), hence the switch to 8ta at the time. I never received any response from Cell C and never pursued it as I had resolved my issue by moving the systems to an 8ta connection. I suspect this new 8ta 197.x.x.x IP range to be an issue for connections from the Cell C network.
I am also for some reason, which may be related, unable to load the My Account Cell C webpage from my 8ta connection. My Account loads normally from a Vodacom and Cell C connection.
