Cell C unwilling to honour to C-Cover contract [solved]

Hi guys

I'm hoping I can get some advice on here. I've had a contract with Cell C for around 2 years, I took C-Cover with my contract. About a week ago my phone was stolen, so I went into Cell C and filled out a blacklist form and a claim form for C-Cover. They faxed it off, and told me to wait 24-48hrs for an ITC number to be smsed to me, and then I could go and open up a police case. I did this on the 2nd April, so 10 days ago. I waited until the 5th before trying to get hold of customer care, I couldnt get through to the contact centre, so I emailed them on the 5th, they didn't respond. I emailed again on the 8th, once again they didn't respond!!!
So on the 8th I laid a complaint on Hellopeter, Cell C responded (this is the only place they seem to respond). A lady from Cell C phoned me and told me she would deal with the matter and phone me back later that day (the 9th) with an ITC number. This of course never happened.
So yesterday I responded on Hellopeter saying that this is disgusting, and I plan to take action against Cell C in this regard, and I have of course heard nothing once again.

Has anyone had a similar experience? Can anyone offer me any advice on how I should proceed with this, I would really appreciate it.

Nick

Throw in some free airtime or a contract discount for being full of BS and for wasting your clients' time

Or maybe keep your nose in your own business ?

No he's right! No client of a good company should have to go through with this, it's honestly ridiculous, I'm without a proper phone at the moment, I honestly don't have time for this!

It seems the only way to get through these days unfortunately.... It's honestly completely ridiculous. I'm really upset that they only deal with the customers properly when they get some bad publicity, I'm not sure what the other service providers are like, but Cell C is particularly bad in this regard!

After two years the value of your c-cover is 0 rand anyway, what do you expect to happen here? It's cheaper and more logical to insure your mobile device with your home content cover.

Why should one always resort to social media to get answer? I'm still waiting on feedback regarding poor voice quality and slow data on cell c when I'm in town. I have to walk outside the building to make a call or receive a call. On my vodacom line the voice quality is superb. I called 0841 555 555 two months ago and up to this day, two phones calls, no follow up as promised... voice quality and data much worse. Clearly, my money is not good enough. I;m done with the promises and lies. To think I was going to port to cell c. I renewed with Vodacom.

Explain the value of my c-cover being zero? I agree with yourcomment about going through home cover, however that doesnt help me right now, and secondly the c-cover was free with my contract.

The initial value of the device is depreciated over the period of the contract. At the end of the initial contract term, cellc values the device as R0. Therefor you will be paid out a whole R0 after the initial contract period. That's how it's worked out on the back of the statement they send me every month.

You are going through a lot of effort for R0.

Well not exactly, I've still got a few months left on my contract. And secondly this is not written into the contract.

I never take cover through cell service providers. Always with insurance companies directly.

I don't trust insurance companies at all. Go read your policy and make sure your IMEI is correct and that the actual CELL C contract sim card was inside the phone. I did read on the other SP forum about someone also having issues cause he didn't update the IMEI smartphone he was using.

Just to close this thread off, I did get a new phone from Cell C last week. I'm happy to have finally got it, and dealt with a very good lady at Cell C. Disappointed that I had go through so much though to get things done...
