Hello, is this normal?

I bought a prepaid 2GB white speed stick on 03/01/2011 (Jan 3). Every month since then I got my 2Gb no problem. Anticipating that my 12 months will come to an end at the end of December 2011 (the 12th month) I bought a new prepaid stick and tossed the old one in a drawer.

This morning I popped the old one back in to the pc and it states that I have 2048Mb for this month. This being the 13th month I was assuming that it will now be dead. Am I calculating this wrong?

Something else that I don't understand is that the expiry date for the data in the software window is strange. The old stick will only expire on 01/01/2030 while the new one that I bought in Dec will expire on 21/01/2013.

can somebody please clarify this for me, thanks

The speed stick expires in the month following the anniversary of when you bought it. So if you bought it in January 2011, it expires in February 2012.

The expiry date of your old stick (01/01/2030) is definitely not correct.

If you bought the old one on 03/01/2011 then it should expire I would say in or end of Feb this year.
If I remember correctly the data they give you in the activation month is for free, so the 12 month countdown actually start the next month.

If this stick still carries on after Feb then someone made a mistake somewhere. :wtf:

Hi OP - you haven't been following the CellC threads on this forum, have you? :)

If you bought and activated, your speedstick in Jan last year, CellC was kind enough to give you the first month free - bearing in mind that it could have been towards the end on the month already. So your 12 months' DATA usage started counting down in February 2011, and will expire at the end of this month, Jan 2012.

If you also loaded some AIRTIME on the sim this was set to last for 20 years - I don't know why. It seems that the policy has now changed and the airtime will last one year.

My 12x2gb will also expire in 2030, but from the 1st of December my twelve months was done. i.e no data loaded in month 13 or 14 for that matter.
I guess the sim will be active until then, without me topping up on airtime???
