So I recently bought myself a ipad1 being told by cellc that I just need to get a microsim and everything will be fine. So I called fourways cellc and they said no stock come again on Wednesday, call on wednesday and was told to call again on friday, again was told to call on monday and told to call again on wednesday - you get my point. But now the guy says that Cellc does not support the Ipad 1?

Is this for real? Not I bought a 3g Ipad and I cant use the 3g cause the amazing cellc lied again. I have the 5gig black modem package so wanted to link that.

Please can someone give me some clarity?

If Cellc support can only be as good as their marketing they would be no1!

The iPad 1 does not support HSDPA 900 only 2100. Cell C use 900, MTN and Vodacom use 2100. The iPad2 supports HSDPA 900. You will only get EDGE with an iPad 1 on the Cell C network which sucks.

Thanks man I am so furious now!!!!!!! You would think that Cellc would know what they are talking about when they say yay or nay!

And now they tell me to get myzone router from them at R1500 so I can use my ipad.

What other options do I have?

Any help greatly appreciated.

but i too struggle with reception but if i switch my sim on and off then i get 3g but not tru thru put but its about double the speed of edge so its okay
but alot of the time i can only get edge which is really frustrating

Simple solution. Get a cellphone with bluetooth and HSDPA that supports 900 and bluetooth the IPAD 1 to the phone and connect. I do that as I have IPAD with wifi only. Works like a charm.

Ok this might be a dumb question as I have no idea on how I would be able to do this. I have a spare Blackberry 8520 (would that work?) or iphone 3gs. can I use those to bluetooth to my ipad?

And how does that work?

This does look like a winner, does it support 21mbs or only 7.2 from cellc? If they were in Fourways I would go pick one up now, just don't like to order online
