CellC - Chronic lack of stock and no new deals

I've been available for a cellphone upgrade now for about two months. When I went in to get a new phone, the one attractive option in my price range - Galaxy Ace - was out of stock, and has continued to be until now I'm told it's EOL.

But rather than replacing it with the next option on the pipeline, they haven't done a thing to fill the mid-price range with a single attractive phone. The Gio is also out of stock, the Y sucks, the Wildfire S also sucks, I won't touch Symbian or BB - and that's the end of my options. I keep being told that they are getting new phones and new stock in but now I'm told not until NEXT month after being told the same thing last month.

The website is chronically out of date, the phone staff are surly. I haven't had any complaints with my CellC service so far and it would have been simpler to just stay with the same supplier but I'm getting to the end. I've been using an ancient Nokia since my previous phone was stolen and I really need a new phone.

Just venting.

Why not contact the CellC rep directly?

He assisted me in getting a Samsung Galaxy S on a good contract option.

And they deliver straight to your door, no more wandering around in malls etc...

Can you suggest a rep for me? I've been calling the helpline not sure whom else to call. I'd be thrilled with a Galaxy S.

Ok I PM'd the rep - I didn't know they had the Galaxy S but if it's only off-peak minutes I'm also not that interested.

Ask Alan Knot Craig to answer the question, he loves the sound of his own voice these days.

Why Blackberry when you can have Android? :wtf:

I opted for Android when I saw that Nokia and RIM both is in trouble...

@MightyQuin My wife seem more interested by the Blackberry 9360, and yes Blackberry because all her friends have one so free bbm...and comparatively cheaper plans.

@Madhawk, thanks for the catalogue! However, if I understand it right buying from a shop vs online means that you pay activation fee for something like R250...so if I could save those.

Happy to receive more tips/advice if you have some :)
