Hi Guys

I'm disappointed with CellC so far. why?

So beginning of May 2013 I went to CellC to TRY signing up a Sony Xperia Z contract.
Gave them my proof of income letter, stating my salary and signed with the business letter head and details. I gave them my own details. So far so good.

They then check the system for my credit score, and I'm not surprised, its quite low at about 250. And the contract package I wanted to get is the CellC Straight Up 100 at R429pm. Obviously I can't take out the contract.

BUT then one staff member said that I can, because of the NEW BUSINESS RULE regarding TOP UP/HYBRID package deals, where they can Triple the credit score. Therefore 250 x 3 = 750, so I am allowed to take out a contract up to the value of R750 per month.

Good news to me, so they offered me a TOP UP 100 for the Xperia Z at R449pm. I signed the contract, and everything is approved. Unfortunately there is not Stock of the phone, and will have to wait a few weeks to get it.

After a month of waiting, today 6th June 2013, there is finally 1 phone available. So now the CellC guy (Matthew) tried to ACTIVATE my contract, the system DISAPPROVES, because of my low credit score??? And now comes the problem, Matthew called the people and they said NO, because of my low credit score, so I can't take out the contract, then why the hell was my contract approved in the first place???
Matthew told them about the new BUSINESS Rule of the triple credit score notice and they still say NO. So Matthew called a friend of his that works at CellC, and he said yes, the contract can be activated and approved...then Matthew called back to the activation centre to approve it, and they said NO again, now they saying my Salary is too low? So now Matthew is trying to sort this thing out and will contact me either later today or tomorrow.

Seriously, what is CELL C doing? Why one person said yes, and the other says no? Can someone explain to me what is happening here? Because its giving me a really bad first impression with the Team.

Welcome to the world of Cellc- the absolutely most incompetent call center you will ever find and I'm not exaggerating. I'm sure if you have an IQ above 90 you are too overqualified to work there. Fortunately there are some decent individuals at the stores but their power is limited.

Exactly, Matthew at the CellC store was very helpful, he tried calling different people, supervisors and even managers for assist. But so far, nothing is happening.

If I don't hear anything from them by Tomorrow, I'm giving up on CellC and moving back to Voda

I doubt Cell C's call center is worse than 8ta's !
I've been without network coverage for 4 days now (can't connect at all). The 8ta "agent" wants me to do a speedtest though ! :wtf:

haha yeah, 8ta's network coverage is not as good as I have imagined.
I believe 8ta is relatively new company? Compared to CellC? Or am I wrong?

Edit: I forgot to mention in the opening post. The new phone was right infront of me, still in its package...all the documents have been approved so all that is left is to Activate the contract and link it to my sim/cell number.

But **** has to happen with their support...
