Can anybody assist

i have a ZTE MF668 "speed stick" that used to work flawlessly on the PCM_CELLCZAV1.0.0B02 version of the connection manager.

I got prompted to upgrade the connection software, did so but since the upgrade my new I-mac core i5 does not see the speed stick.
i re-installed all the software and drivers from the Cellc site and even the helpline operators do not know how to resolve the problem. Has anybody had the same problem and been able to resolve this issue?

I received this SMS on the speed-stick:
Time to upgrade your Speed Stick with the new Connection Manager. Go to http://tinyurl.com/cellc-cm (free download) or visit your nearest Cell C store. Cell C

So I downloaded the MF668 updater from this page: http://www.cellc.co.za/internet/page/support/desktop-software/2

Comodo antivirus reports that "UpdateZTE.exe" which is inside "UpdateInstaller_MF668.exe" is infected with "UnclassifiedMalware@256747066"

(have screenshots to prove this.)

I just removed the dashboard from my pc and installed Tun@'s dashboard and it works fine now. The new dashboard didn't work for me either.

It won't work on ZTE modems tho ok...only Huawei ones - far as i'm aware anyway.
Not sure but MDMA should be able to lock it to "3G only"

aaaiy, i tired mdma, and i can lock it on to 3g, but then it doesnt get me any signal, gets stuck on "searching network..." . which is strange cause when i use a friends hauwei modem, i get 3g signal, and its on the same machine, in the same spot. I even tried plugging the modem into my work machine and i still get only edge, while the guy that sits next to me his cell c modem gets him perfect 3g.

Ok - maybe try the beta 10 that has the "band config" button & check that both 900 & 2100 is actually checked & not somehow been turned off.
here:http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/303489-MDMA-Beta-1.0.0.31-Beta-Testing?

I think thats the one i have, i will double check the band config, i have been playing around with a lot of stuff to get the modem to get off edge.

EDIT: I do have the beta 10 version, i have it set to both 900 and 2100 not the Europe one though, but when i load the mdma using the port parameter, it then pops up a message stating "Band setting not available for this modem". I set the connection type to 3g only, then it takes forever to find the network, i was however able to connect using edge :(

My ZTE is also acting up...
It can only find very poor edge signal. At first I thought it's the signal that's poor.
So I took my N8, with the cellc sim, and it connected at full 3.5G signal.

So the problem is not the signal, not the software, but the device.

Will Cellc swop my device over, if I hand it over to them?

I went to cell c within the 7days of my purchase and they gave me a new one, but the new one then started acting up, menlyn didnt want to give me a new one, they told me to get it fixed at the centurion cell c, so i went there yesterday, and they sent it in for service cause the technician couldnt fix it, i dont think they have the old firmware, so now i have to wait 7-20 working days :( although they did say it should it could be done sooner.

These zte modems arent very good though, i got better signal from my friends hauweii than with the zte, only thing the haweii gets freakin hot.

Good day apogeeza

Thank you For the screen shots and the info.
I have had a look at them as well as past them to relevant departments.

This is very interesting as i cant get and detection like this.
Using McAfee Business and kaspersky, have even set to high level.
Is any one else having this issues?
Please can you send me screen shoots as well, will greatly assist.

I suggest you submit 'Installer_MF668.exe' to Comodo for testing as it looks like a false positive.

Hi ginggs

Going to get the old and new dash board for the MF688 and run a few tests on both.

If you post MD5 signature of downloaded file, Cell_C could compare it with a real one, so we know we are talking about the same file.

I've just upgrade my connection manager to the latest as advised on the Cell C website. Big mistake. I only seem to be able to connect to EDGE now, and performance has fallen through the floor. Same PC, same ZTE MF688 speedstick, same location, just a different connection manager. Can anyone advise? I just want to roll back to the original connection manager from mid 2011 which picked up HSPA+
