Ever noticed that the thickness specification of a cellphone is usually for the thinnest part of the phone? For example, the Galaxy Note 3 is supposedly 8.3 mm thick, but the thickest part at the camera is about 9.4 mm thick.
The Galaxy S2's specified thickness is 8.7 mm, but a bulge at the base makes it almost 2 mm thicker!
Thickness specs for iPhones are generally accurate since they don't have any bits that stick out. In fact Apple won a
case in 2011 when it claimed that the iPhone is the thinnest smartphone in the world while Samsung used misleading tactics to compete.
So beware if thickness is an important parameter for you when you are choosing your next smartphone.
Shouldn't there be a law against this?
