Cellphone WiFi connection problems with Siemans Giga762SX router

Hi there

I have a Siemans Giga762SX ADSL router at home. The Wifi works great when I use my laptop, but when I use my cellphone (or any other cellphone) I run into connection problems.

Here is what happens....I can connect to wifi just fine, and I can use it, but after a few seconds I cannot load any more web pages on my phone. The browser just hangs. The wifi is still connected with an excellent signal strength, but it acts like I have been disconnected.

I find that if I am fast enough to start downloading something on my phone (like a movie clip, documents, jpegs etc), then I will manage to stay connected and won't have a problem

Has anyone had this problem, or maybe knows what I can do to fix it. It is not just my cell, but all others that have been tried. Computers and laptops don't have a problem.

Thanks

Anyone? Noone?

Someone must have had this problem before. Are there not any settings on the router that I can maybe change?

Change your cellphone WIFI settings to not "Avoid poor connections", "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep", check that your Wi-Fi frequency band is on "Auto" and lastly, match your cellphone's Wi-Fi frequency to that of the router.

Read the manual for troubleshooting guide!

Or use forum search to look for someone with the same router as yours...

Thanks for your response. I am a total idiot with these routers, so please bare with me. How do I change the settings that you are talking about. I have looked through all my cellphone settings, and cant find the ones you are talking about. Are they on the router settings page?

Unfortunately the manuals troubleshooting guide has not helped me too much

Hi there Landuse,
I think you will find that rudig is pulling your leg. Those settings are not there.
Your problem though could relate to the browser on the phone which generally do not match the capability of the workstation versions.
