Cellular networks being 'hypocritical'

MTN and Cell C disconnect inactive subscribers after 90 days and 120 days

The whole number for life thing is just a blatant lie. Once you've bought the card the number should be yours regardless how often or even if you ever use it. Specifically if you have airtime they should be legally required to maintain that number until the airtime has been used. Or they can refund any remaining airtime, but just cancelling it isn't acceptable.

Vodacom's move to delete SIM cards will also reduce the burden of having to register more than 17 million prepaid subscribers

Surely the only reason they're doing it.

ARPU, which has declined because operators signed up low-end users

Does this not increase their overall profits though?

[average revenue per user]

So that's what Arpu's name means.

Not necessarily. It is just an indication of the average price all users over the network pay per month.

Nothing more than a measurement imo.

so it's doesn't matter if i pay every month they'll just cut me off? or is that just payasyougo people?
