Gawd! It's depressing getting older......

My partner went to the North to the funeral of his Aunt, well it was not that bad , she was approaching 90..... A good innings indeed...

My other Partner, well his sister, under fifty is battling cancer and is on round 2 of Chemo......

The English HO showed me a photo of a local kid, four or five year old, up in the capital, having chemo for a tumor, part of our badminton family up here...

The English HO's father, down in the Cape, diagnosed in March, stage 4 Lung cancer, that has already spread.....

One of my eccentric customers called last night, "Please inform your staff that my mother passed on last night in the local hospital.....", I had just seen him on Thursday down at the hospital, he was excited, coz he had come to collect his mother.....

Then one of my braai buddies from the local bowling club had just returned from the Cape and was in the store the weekend, I was off, but my staff informed me that I had to go check on my friend as he was looking terrible....

I walked over to his shop and got the fright of my life, this jolly round womanising chap had lost about thirty kilo's.... skin pale , eyes yellowing, he battled to support himself and stood propped up in the door frame as we spoke.....

He was getting his affairs in order..... not sure what went wrong, doctors baffled, complications to his colon from years of type two diabetes...... this guy is three years older than me, and here he was discussing leaving his boys behind...

I stood there dumbfounded......."WTF is going on?, Is the universe trying to tell me something........?" , I pondered as he stabilized himself against the white rusted burglar bars.....

Depressed I walked back to my office........ An hour later I was reading up on low carb diets and asking myself what have I done,

I WA the English HO, "It's low carb diets and high fat all the way ..... " , I informed her........

"What?", came her short reply....

"I just saw R across the street..... he is dying......" , came back my sober reply.....

"You muppet, you're not dying, you play 45 minutes of badminton every day of the week..... you don't drink brandy and coke like he did....... ", she concluded.....

Still it bothers me, is it the age in life that I am...... I feel good save for the odd hernia twinge, the enlarged prostate has been medicated..........

What could go wrong...... for all I see is change and decay all around....

:crying::barefoot::barefoot::barefoot::barefoot:

I might have mentioned this before, small town.... but when one of our customers dies in this town, we send a cocktail platter around to their homes, it's a small touch but goes a mile.....

Unfortunately we are all pre-programmed to expire at some time, the only thing we can do is live life to its fullest in the hope that we get to achieve our goals in life. Once you reach a certain age, expiry seems to accelerate around you with friends, family and colleagues being the victims.
I think the world environment plays a large part in the accelleration of our expiry!

Yup, you know you are getting old when the number of funerals you attend far outweigh the weddings.
Best advice : get rid of everything, anything and anyone in your life that in any way feeds into your stress levels.
Stress is the biggest killer of all, it feeds and nurtures all sorts of illness and complications.

Forgot add to my gloomy post that my baby brother who is five years younger than me has to go for Deep Brain Stimulation surgery in a few months, starting getting Parkinsons when he was 42........

Just adds to the Gloomy Misty day up here............

Yet, I do not feel depressed about it all, this hologram we are in needs to have an ending....... :sneaky:

Feck you Cancer bitch!

I was on reddit, reading about topics like, will we ever find a cure,

How long do folk need to suffer like this? How Long?

I recall when my mother passed on from breast cancer at the age of 49, some twenty two years ago, I thought , "Well my daughters should be fine, they will more than likely find a cure in the next 10 years or so...."

Two decades on and they keep falling, the older you get the numbers rise....

I need to goto to our International airport ( Yep! my small airport in the middle of nowhere is designated as an International airport) in four hours to collect the English HO who as I type is bidding the old man farewell for the last time...... it's almost time...

Gawd! It makes me ponder the point of it all...... My Butchery Manager always lives for the moment, not saving, just braaing, partying, touring....... Always saying, that he might as well enjoy life whilst he can as he doubts he will make 60.

His own father dying of cancer at a young age....

Then I watch the effin' pedo in my store, done jail time and still carries on with his evil feckin lifestyle..... in his feckin 80's ...... How feckin' unfair is that? Bastard!

Sigh! Stupid Coffee ain't doing me any good!

/Moose sighs, shakes his shaven head and looks for some tunes to improve his mood....

I use to run a four man beer brewing club up here in the Namib. This unique club that would meet every second Friday of the month consisted of a Scot, A Serbian, A South West German and an Angolan Portuguese.

The Fridays were legendary, held outside the workshop of the German, A braaidrom laden with choice cuts manned by one of his workers, whilst we tested each other's brews. Gawd! Some of those brews could have peeled paint of the Hindenburg, the discussion on gravity and worts lasted into the wee hours of the morn.....

They were good day's, days that a man would recall right into his old age...

As the years rolled by, The Portuguese got divorced and left the country, The German headed to Ovamboland to follow business interests and The Serb, he inherited a farm back in Serbia...... he left taking his Namibian wife with...

Over the last few hours I have been inundated with messages, informing me of the passing of Mile' The Serb........ Man, this year just sucks...... Citizens of this sphere are dropping like flies....

Cheers Mile' , tonight I will light a wee fire and raise a few cans in the General direction of Belgrade!

:crying:

This Past ten days seems to want to outdo the previous years and for what it's worth a lot of people appear to be ascending to higher mansions at a rapid rate. Perhaps it's due to the fact that I too am climbing the ivory stairs of time.

One of my best mates decided to leave us last week at the age of 57, We were very good mates, I had often stayed over with him in the remote Namaqualand town of Springbok on my road trips. Last week on the journey down to the Cape of Good Hope to repatriate the Mum in Law to Namibia, I stopped at his place of work, rushed in for a quick greeting to find the place open but in darkness..... A mere 24 hours late on the return journey I had to rush through the town without stopping in order to make the border before my permit expired. It was a few hours later at home when an ashen faced HO broke the news to me.....

Needless to say I was stunned.....

In the last ten days I have heard of six people that knew me that have all passed on.

I am at stage now where I just feel numb towards death, unavoidable .........

Waiting for the 7th to go as I was informed 48 hours ago that he had brain cancer that had now spread...

At times, I feel that the Grimm Reaper and I know the same people...

Change And Decay in all around I see.........

"Everyone I know goes away in the end" - NIN

“Since the inoculation of this world, neither truth nor lies have existed. Only authoritative reality. Regardless, every being in this world lives misrecognizing only convenient “facts” as truth. This is because they have no other way to live. However, for the powerless who make up the majority of this world, the inconvenient “facts” they affirm through themselves is entirely the truth.”

Hey Morty, strongs to you.
Have also lost so many people to this evil.
Last one a beautiful young woman of 40. Diagnosed then dead in a month.
About 18 people gone in the last 2 years.
Youngest 33 years old.
And I'm told Covid is dangerous.
