Hi Guys,

I am sick and tired of being charged R299 for 3GB by Mweb/Worldonline/Tiscali for an ADSL service that works very well... BUT is much more expensive than other ISPs.

Am I correct in saying this ???

Q1) Why should I not DITCH Mweb and for R50 more (R349) get a SAOL 10GB ADSL account ????

Q2) If I get the 10GB shaped account, does that mean that eMule would NOT connect at all ... or does it mean that it will just run slower than normal?

Any Comments or Ideas ???? Any better ISP that I should move to ????

I moved to SAOL and I am very satisfied with the sevice I received so-far.

So, nobody can give me any other advice other than SAOL ????

We have 10x10gb SAOL accounts and they work perfectly.

The only reason to stay with Mweb would be to keep your email address.

The only advice to give would be that everyone else is more expensive.

I first signed on with Saol half way through october, I payed R230 rand for the reamainder of that month. When the Nov 1 pricing came out they allowed me a 30 gig account for this month at the old pricing even though they must have made a sizable loss. At R349 for 10 gigs theyre still making a loss so I would have to say that SAOL certainly have their customers interests a heart.

Now if only Telkom could display a fraction of the commitment to the future of ADSL in this country (i.e any at all) as SAOL does.

Exactly... and since I have my own domain...

The thing that REALLY gets me about Mweb is that their billing cycles run from the 24th of the month.

SO: If you want to cancel, you need to give them notice, then they will cancel your contract (account) on the 24th of the month.

(I have checked and confirmed this...)

You will then either need to "double-up" for the month... OR... go back to dialup for those last 6 or 7 days.

PAIN-IN-THE-ASS...
