Hi please can you assist. My dad stood as guarantor as I wasn't approved for finance and we have a deed of guarantee stipulating this. He passed on 11/11/2020 and licensed for vehicle is due. They cannot register in dad's name so how can this be done. The vehicle is freehold

As far as I know, licence renewals can be done by anyone as long as the application is submitted in the municipal area where the car is registered.

I'm keen to get similar advice. Have a mate who emigrated. Left me his old battered car. Left in a flurry and I am sitting w no papers no reg papers or ownership papers. Mate has lost them all. Left in a rush and can't find them on the Aus side. Now saying do what you wanna do pêl - it's yours? Where to with this? Park in a car park and walk... Or is there a way to get it transfered into my name? But how if the owner doesn't want to know about it?

Deceased, you would need the executor to sign over the car to you.

Lost papers, I'm afraid the actual owner is needed to get a copy.

So just leave it in the mall parking lot and walk? Sell to a scrap merchant? Seems a shame?
