Changing to 99c package

Hi everyone - my dad lives in a small town and just went and bought a cell c simcard at his local shop down the road.

They took his R15 and he walked out, without having to Rica. he asked the lady and she said it's already rica'd, which sounds a bit fishy to me.

But anyways, that's not my question. He says the simcard pack doesn't say 99c anywhere on it - when I bought mine all the branding was about the 99c promo.

Say he gets it Rica'd and he follows the instructions on the back of the pack to port from Vodacom to Cell C, does he have to do anything special to get the 99c rate, if the sim card that he bought wasn't specifically "made" for the 99c promo?

I recall people having to do a tarrif plan switch to get the 99c thingie?

Just get him to call 141 and choose the 'change your tariff plan' option. I think it was option 3.
It should tell him what plain he is on, and if he's not on 99c for real, he can change it.

Pre-RICAd, it is why it costs R15, not 99c. In JHB R20 on the street.
