What about a Rasberry Pi / AppleTV / Chromecast? We're using AppleTV devices for all our boardrooms, however our Wifi isn't always stable enough :(

Go Raspberry Pi's running the dashboard screens in the office, but it is a bit slow for a boardroom.

Can you open webpages and document on an apple tv ?

We're sharing our desktop with the AirPArrot to the AppleTV which in turn shows it on the boardroom screen.

There are quite a few disadvantages about this approach, such as the AirParrot application not being free for Windows and that your clients have to be on the same subnet as the AppleTV to be able to discover it.

I still prefer the VGA/HDMI cable route, because it just works all the time.

For our support/monitoring room, we're using thin clients (Windows CE I think), which simply reloads certain webpages every 60 seconds using Google Chrome.
