Cheap imported butter is undercutting local brands

Clover butter goes for around R79 a lb. Good enough for me but I prefer Lurpak or Kerrygold...those prices are insane though.

I'm already a lazy sod on Saturdays so I might as well go full Jew.
had my housekeeper go buy a whole lot 10 x 2l.
so i started to experiment, remove from freezer when half frozen, run thru a fine sieve to seperate the ice -
ta daa . . . . smooth rich tasting milk

Have beaten the prices as I make my own butter.

Pick n pay mark down their Fresh cream by 50% a day or 2 before expiry. The fresh cream still lasts about a week or 2 after expiry date. A liter of fresh cream costs about R25/R30 at reduced price.

Add cream to a liquidiser add half spoon of salt and beat on high till butter separates from the butter milk. Squeeze butter through a muslin and store in plastic containers in fridge. Use butter milk for baking

Too much effort to save R20, plus thats 20 minutes wasted you could be watching porn.
